We encourage family or friend support during the process of deciding to seek help regarding ones hearing. It is often others who notice the hearing
problem before the individual.
Hearing aids are only recommended when the patient is ready to try them.
EARLY INDENTIFICATION
Early identification of hearing loss, and early intervention, will help the new hearing aid user to adapt easier. It is important to stimulate the auditory system to help with understanding.
WHAT CAUSES HEARING LOSS
There are many causes of hearing loss, and we, through various test results, can determine if a hearing loss is Sensorineural, Conductive or Mixed. Some types of hearing loss are treatable and we will advise you to seek medical attention when necessary.
There is often resistance to admitting a hearing problem, and it can be years before a person can be convinced to seek help. Hearing aid technology has changed dramatically and we now have discreet solutions with hearing aids and assistive listening devices.
SUPPORT SYSTEM
A good support system often makes the difference between success and failure with hearing aids. We encourage family and friends to attend appointments to help with understanding the information they will receive and decision making.
